PREPARATIONS BEFORE THE DAY

We have always enjoyed catching the “behind the scenes” before the ceremony. Ric and Genesi decided to change into two different locations but for their package, they only wanted the photographer and videographer to focus on the bride.

Depending on what you choose we can offer two teams for you to capture the bride and groom when you and your fiancée are changing in two different locations. The first team is full time and stays with the bride. The second team is part-time and stays with the groom. The photographer and videographer in the second team record and capture everything up until the first hour of the reception. The first team stays for the rest of the day to capture the party, speeches, cake cutting, and any other surprises that you may have planned.

A LITTLE DETAIL ABOUT RUTGERS KIRKPATRICK CHAPEL

Kirkpatrick Chapel is one of New Jersey’s architectural gems. Its sweeping arches, Tiffany windows, and antique furnishings create an atmosphere of elegance and dignity. Kirkpatrick Chapel has served as the scene of wedding ceremonies, civil unions, baptisms, memorials, and other ceremonies for more than a century. It welcomes couples of all faiths and traditions. Couples may use any officiant of their choosing (including civil). The historic venue can accommodate 650 guests comfortably.

The chapel is conveniently located in central New Jersey and is easily accessible from all major routes. Kirkpatrick Chapel is surrounded by the beautiful Old Queens campus of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. In addition to offering couples the ideal ceremony location, the Kirkpatrick Chapel office can assist couples with other vendor referrals.

THE CEREMONY

Before the ceremony starts we always talked to the priest about two things. The first thing is about where we can shoot, can we go on the stage, get close if we need to, and can we use all three of the aisles to shoot. You’d be surprised at their response even though you’re the one paying all this money. A lot of priests have mixed feelings about where we should shoot.

A ceremony has been stopped before just because one of the shooters walked across the middle aisle to get to the other side of the room. The priest wanted us to walk to the back of the room, walk across then come up. In shock ….. yeah so were we.

The second subject we would talk about is will this be a short ceremony or a long one. Keep in mind a long ceremony would mean more shots but we can relax doing it cause we have plenty of time. A short ceremony means a lot of shooters quietly speed walking all over the room to make sure we get all the angles.
